This works therefore for transparent proxies, as well as for machines with a local HTTP_PROXY (or equivalent) set.</p>

It doesn&#8217;t seem to be terribly reliable, especially when being sent by me.  Currently there are at least three people asking me about some NM status (I&#8217;m sure I remember replying to the first two, sorry guys). A couple of people have asked me questions about things on my website.. Gah.<br />
I realise (now) that some of the emails I&#8217;ve sent from my laptop aren&#8217;t getting sent (unannounced change of firewall rules on ISP), I hope that that is responsible for most of the problems.</p>
